Sometimes
I‘ve got a tune in my head… which just won’t go away… till I express it out on record – to recall and replay…whatever. Flavors and influences include classical, oldies, pop, kiddies (yes, no kidding…). Picked up, inspired, mesmerized or plainly got “hammered” in willingly or otherwise… from TV, radio, ring tones, YouTube, “hungry ghost” stage performances, and my bosses’ Kara-KayO-ing of now and yesteryears. And for some, I don’t even have a clue where they came from – hmmm…, opportunity comes knocking?

|
I do backgrounds to originals and improvisations as well somehow - some say in cheesy, crappy ways (so what!). Proud achievements include mutating great masterpieces and reducing them to a state beyond recognition. Though I may do one or two of my own originals… excuse me while I do a victory dance here and pat myself on the back – oh, in case you are wondering, it’s a skill I acquired from politicians of a certain part of the world where I lived in.
|

No music fundamentals or training…, can’t even read notations I must say – too lazy to fix this (yeah, yeah, shame on me!). For I shortcut using play-by-ear method to express the seasonal lingering in my head… In case of the unexpected, don’t sue me – just pre-insure your ears and sanity. In short, I am not promising any nirvana, entertainment or (yo!) cool stuff to your liking. It’s a matter of whether we share the same taste. Hope we got that cleared up.

Wanna have a say?
Sure, keep ‘em coming - friendly comments, encouragements and advices. As for those incapable of resisting good-for-nothing criticisms, sarcasms, profanities and other negativities, kindly put your comments elsewhere – I recommend tattooing them on your forehead and follow it up with a ritual of banging your head against a brick or concrete wall umpteen times until the urges go away or until you pass out – whichever comes first. No need to thank me, the idea came from someone else…

Why bother with my err… works? Well…, no carrots at all… appease curiosity at your own risk! These are productions of an unknown and untrained guy cranking sounds out of musical instruments and occasionally croaks noises into the repertoire - but not to worry, just watch out for those with the tags. Finding it irresisitible? Once again, don’t glance, read again the above WARNING section – the part on “don’t sue me” in red.
|
|
And to what end? What do I hope to achieve? Well, for one is to get it out of my system and two… dunno, perhaps I enjoy tormenting humanoid auditory senses – yours, mine…and those of any primates or ETs unfortunate enough to tune in.

Okay, the end to the blah-blah-blahs. If you still feel like it, make yourself comfortable – have a cup of coffee on hand, click on any of my humble works below, and hang on. Thereafter…, may you wake up to a better tomorrow!

 | Sing (Joe Raposo for Sesame Street – popularized by The Carpenters) |
|
Copied this arrangement direct from my old school band days – long before the release of Richard Clayderman’s similar-sounding piece. It was stuck in my head for a very, very long time. A bit of timing issues here and there, but hey, I finally got it out of my head! Gave me a sense of nostalgia – reliving those good old times.

 | Song of Joy (Beethoven) |
|
Inspired when my 1st kid was born. Umm…, forgot something here… oh, the chorus part!
| | |
 | Pooh Bear Dance |
|
The bug jumped at me from a computer game – did it just to impress my toddler kids who were playing it at that time. Thought it has a catchy tune…
| | |
 | Only You (Yazoo – a.k.a. Yaz) |
|
There were many different songs bearing the same song title - thought I “reconditioned” one, styled after the one I like best.
| | |
 | Mere Image (Mannheim Steamroller) |
|
And I did it my way… If you know the original from the Fresh Aire III album, it will take a while before any familiarity kicks in – but don’t strain yourself, if it doesn’t.

 | Your World and My World (Albert Hammond) |
|
Arranged this piece with full accompaniment based on the style I previously used to guitar-serenade then the girl of my interest (now my wife!). A few lawyers got charmed too - sorry, this recording request took almost 20 years to fulfill! Sigh, time sure flies.

 | What Matters Is How You Want To See It Thru – Draft (MuntWorks) |
|
Ahem, my 1st original. A dedication to my fast growing kids – basically, goody-goody advices a supportive and understanding parent such as I would give. This is a bare-bone guitar/draft accompaniment version.
| | |
 | What Matters Is How You Want To See It Thru – Final (MuntWorks) |
|
A full band support version – took ages to finalize and complete. Came out with too many background flavors and could not decide on a clear-cut preference. Also, was bogged down with the issue of ensuring compatibility in feel when piecing the various parts together. Aaaargh!! End result is a spaghetti mix! Now, keeping fingers crossed - verdict is yours… If you have nothing good to say about it, then don’t…

 | Morning Joy (MuntWorks) |
|
My 2nd original. Nothing fanciful - just a simple instrumental piece which I feel reflects the fresh morning atmosphere in the garden park in front of my apartment.
